Social Media

Petals & Pixels

What if better social media could mean more than likes? The flowers were beautiful. The opportunity was to make the content work harder - showing potential customers what made the business special and giving them more reasons to engage. The commercial difference: 229x increase in reach meant significantly greater visibility and engagement.

Petals & Pixels

What if…?

What if your social media could do more than look beautiful?

The opportunity

Turn beautiful floral content into a stronger commercial tool - building engagement, attracting the right customers and creating more opportunities to generate bookings.

What I noticed

Petals and Pixels had beautiful work to share, a distinctive style and a story worth telling. But there was an opportunity to make its social media work harder commercially.

Rather than simply posting photographs of arrangements, I looked at how the content could communicate the value of the business, give potential customers a reason to engage and help them imagine what the flowers could bring to their own wedding or event.

The opportunity wasn’t to make more content for the sake of it. It was to look at the business through fresh eyes and think differently about how existing strengths could be used to attract customers and generate bookings.

The thinking

1. Make the content work harder.

I explored how the social media could move beyond showcasing individual arrangements to tell a more compelling story - highlighting the flowers, the process, the personality behind the business and the possibilities for customers.

The aim was to create content that people wanted to watch, share and save, while helping potential customers understand what made Petals and Pixels different.

2. Give people a reason to stop scrolling.

I foused on making the content more engaging and giving people a reason to watch beyond the finished photograph. By thinking differently about how the work was presented, I helped create content that reached a much wider audience.

The platform went from around 270 views to more than 62,000, demonstrating the potential of a fresh approach to content.

3. Connect engagement to bookings.

Views are useful, but they aren’t the end goal for a business. I wanted the increased visibility to create a commercial opportunity.

The content helped increase engagement and contributed to more wedding bookings, showing how social media could play a more active role in attracting customers rather than simply acting as a portfolio.

What happened

The results showed what a different approach could achieve.

  • 270 to 62,000+ views/month
  • Increased engagement across social media.
  • More wedding bookings, with approximately one additional booking per month.

The important shift was from simply sharing beautiful work to using content more deliberately to attract attention, build interest and encourage enquiries.

What next?

The opportunity doesn’t stop at social media. The next step is to look at how the website and supporting sales materials can build on that increased visibility and turn more interest into bookings.

The website: Review the customer journey to make the offer, the style of the flowers and the reasons to choose Petals and Pixels clearer. Explore how the site can better support enquiries and help potential customers take the next step.

The cash-in-background look book: Develop a visual look book showcasing the possibilities of DIY wedding flowers, helping couples picture what they could create themselves and how this could offer a more affordable alternative. The aim is to create  an inspiring sales tool that supports conversations with prospective customers, brings ideas to life and helps couple explore the poosibilities available to them.

Together, these next steps would connect the inspiration created through social media with the information and confidence customers need when making a booking decision.

The What If? perspective

Sometimes the opportunity is already sitting within a business - in the work it creates, the story it tells or the customers it could reach.

With Petals and Pixels, I looked at how a fresh approach to social media could create greater visibility and contribute to more orders. The next opportunity is to carry that thinking through the website and into the tools that help turn interest into sales.

Because better doesn’t always mean doing more. Sometimes it means looking differently at what you already have - and making it work harder.
